Enemies and Allies

This book is set in the 50's and deals with some firsts: The first time Superman and Batman meet, The first time Lex Luthor tries a 'big evil scheme', the first time Superman encounters kryptonite, etc.

The author also wrote "The Last Days of Krypton". I liked both books. In this one, he set the thing shortly after Superman and Batman started their 'Super Professions'. The book (in my opinion) properly avoids trying to tell origin stories. It is clearly a Superman story with Batman in it, not that there is anything wrong with that. (No crazy painted villians yet in the Batman world of this book...)

Definitely a good read. It is in the quick read category, maybe because it was well written, maybe because it was a well written Superman story. (I don't want to say more and ruin anything in the story for you, just go find a copy and read it. It only took me a little over one evening. Meaning about 5 hours.)
