Ruth's birthday

Today was Ruth's birthday. We took her to Red Robin for dinner, where she could get all the fries she wanted. Ruth ordered spaghetti and a salad. (No fries.) Whatever makes her happy. I was starting to get a little upset about our waiter for not being around to get us more fries. (And avoiding eye contact) Then he brought Ruth an ice cream cake for her birthday, gratis. I think it helped that Ruth had been telling everyone it was her borthday. "Hi, my name is Ruth. Today is my birthday. I am five."

Some pictures from Ruth opening gifts:

Kate, the picture taker.

Lily and Mary doled out the presents.

Giant chalk

Slightly smaller giant chalk.

For you consideration...
