I talked to someone a couple of days ago, they had tried coffee flavored ice cream and liked it, they were wondering if I thought it was against the Word of Wisdom to be eating it all the time. My response? "It's got coffee in it right?" They said "So, you are saying yes..."
Having been thinking about it for a couple of days, here's where the train of thought has gone:
- Coffee flavored ice cream - you may like it, and start eating it from time to time.
- At some point, the coffee flavored ice cream still tastes good to you, you come across "iced coffee" - since you like the taste of the coffee flavored ice cream, you try an iced coffee.
- Having been hooked on iced coffee in the summer, some cold winter morning you end up really cold and really wet, and have a cup of hot coffee.
- Then you can't stop.
This is in no way autobiographical, I can't stand the taste of the stuff. (And if I were less colorblind this wouldn't be a problem. The only place I come across this taste is in the Jelly Bellies at the Stake Center, which I really don't eat anymore, and 9 months ago I figured out that if you smash them before you eat them, you can smell what flavor each bean is, and can avoid the nasty ones...)
Anyway, that's my take on coffee flavored ice cream.

Believe it or not, I used to think that coffee flavored ice cream was flavored like coffee. Mom straightened me out. Now the closest I get to coffee is smelling it while walking through the grocery store.
