On the street alongside our church building, there is a section that the street lights (not traffic lights) randomly decide to work or not. The other night, someone got hit by a car in that section of the road while they were crossing the street. Drew had to go in to work, I heard all the racket they were making getting there from inside the church.
Anyway, that night several of the street lights were out. I drove by last night, and there were 3 lights in a row out, for a total of 1 1/2 blocks. It was pitch black over there. You'd think the city would be out fixing the lights. They've been like that for a long time. (Not always 3 in a row, sometimes 1, 2, 3, or 4 of them will be out, not necessarily all in a row.)
Maybe I need to complain to the city. It is very annoying to be walking in the dark, and the only reason to be in the dark is that the street lights are not working. It's also hard as a driver, you have to be extra careful on that road, lots of students don't seem to have a lick of sense, and will step out into traffic and hope the cars stop. (Some of them even when they are wearing dark clothing, and there is no hope of seeing them.)
